<style=Step 1. All new Medical Marijuana patients must register with the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program Registry. Must register as a patient or caregiver.
<style=Step 2. Acquire a diagnosis from your primary care physician documenting that you have one of the 23 conditions recognized by the state Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana program.
<style=Step 3. Call Discover Optimal Healthcare to schedule an appointment with one of our PA Department of Health Certified medical marijuana doctors.
<style=Step 4. Upon approval from our Medical Marijuana doctor, you may apply online for a Pennsylvania State Medical Marijuana card. ($50 State Application fee applies)
<style=Step 5. Upon receipt of your state-approved Medical Marijuana card, patients may take the card to any PA state dispensary, meet with the Pharmacist, and purchase your medical marijuana.


Medical Marijuana in Pennsylvania
To obtain a medical marijuana card and obtain medical cannabis from dispensaries the patient must be a Pennsylvania resident. A Pennsylvania Department of Health approved doctor must verify the patient’s medical condition in order to acquire certification.

All patients must bring with them to their appointment a valid PA ID as well as any relevant medical records that document the specific medical condition you have that would make you eligible.
Medical Marijuana Caregivers
When completing your application, you can designate up to two caregivers to assist you in obtaining medical marijuana. Caregivers can be a spouse, a parent, or even a friend. Patients under the age of 18 are required to have a caregiver. Caregivers also have to register for the medical marijuana program. All caregivers must complete a background check before being approved.
Caregiver Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license or a state-issued ID card (with current address).
- Complete a criminal history background check.
- Not have been convicted of a criminal offense relating to the sale or possession of drugs, narcotics, or a controlled substance in the last five years.
- Register and obtain an ID card that will allow you to pick up medical marijuana at a Pennsylvania dispensary.

- Dyskinetic & spastic movement disorders

- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
- Multiple sclerosis
- Muscle Spasms
- Neuropathy
- Opioid Dependency
- Pain that is either:Chronic and severeIntractable
- Parkinson’s disease
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Sickle cell anemia
- Spinal cord disease or injury
